Made by IMI of Israel, famous for their Uzi sub-machine guns, the Desert Eagle .50 is a nice peice of hardware, especially if you want to put something down with just one shot and not worry about it getting back up when you're preoccupied.

A fifty cal. round is such a massive piece of lead that just about anything you hit will end up on the floor in no shape to get back up. Ever.  Unfortunately ammo is not cheap, and with a six inch barrel closed quarter combat can get more than a little noisey.

Still, having virtually a hand-held artillery peice that will almost conceal in the small of your back has its advanteges.
